The mere thought of hours in front of the stove, cooking a meal for your ravishing family, can cause nightmares in any household. Here are some fantastic and very easy meals to make in only a couple of minutes, and you need not be a wonderful cook to ace these scrumptious recipes!


Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. The problem lies with the tornado of chores to do before hitting the office. For those who need breakfast on the run, try the Berry Yogurt Smoothie. Blend one cup of blackberries and one cup of strawberries in a blender. Add two cups of plain yogurt, one spoon of honey and a dash of milk. Mix well and enjoy the smooth taste of a healthy breakfast on the go. The Berry Yogurt Smoothie can be complimented with muesli or cracker bread.

For those who have time for a sit-down breakfast, a Creamed Mushroom Omelette can bring happiness to any tummy! To make the cream sauce, melt two spoons of butter in a pan. Add two spoons of flour and stir until smooth. Add milk to the flour mixture until light and soft and sprinkle cheese over the sauce to melt. Fry a cup of button mushrooms in a pan with a dash of butter. Throw the cream sauce with the mushrooms and mix well. Mix two eggs (depending on your serving), add salt and pepper to taste and fry in a pan sprayed with Spraying Cook. Place the fried, open omelette on a plate and spread the creamy mushroom sauce on one half of the omelette. Roll it up and sprinkle the top of the omelette with cheese. Place the omelette on a baking tray in the oven and allow the cheese to melt. Top it off with a dash of maple syrup. This is a very tasty way to start the day.

Lunchtime is that one hour you have to do as many things as you can. Try the super easy-to-make Avocado Pasta. Boil pasta until cooked. Blend an avocado, one garlic clove, a dash of olive oil and two spoons of lemon juice in a blender. Add the cooked pasta to the avo mix, season with salt and pepper and beat that lunchtime dash!


Another very easy lunchtime dish is Ham, Cheese and Tomato Sandwiches. Butter rye bread and place a slice of ham on one piece of bread. Slice tomatoes, cucumber and lettuce and place them on top of the ham. Lastly, add cheese as a topping.

After a long day at school or work, a lovely, laid back dinner with the family is a great way to celebrate the day’s happenings. Stir Fry is well complimented with rice or pasta. Put one spoon of olive oil in a pan and fry a bag of frozen veggies of your choice. In another pan, fry beef bits until brown. Mix the veggies and beef bits together, add a mild sweet and sour sauce and season with salt and pepper.


For the fish lovers, try Hake and Mustard Sugar. Place hake (depending on your serving) on a baking tray. Mix two spoons of brown sugar with one spoon of Hot English Mustard (liquid from). Baste the hake in the mustard mix and add salt and pepper to taste. Bake in the oven until cooked. Enjoy with a light green salad.
